New European Regulations on 5G Network Security

Possible Strategies and Measures

On the 20th of January 2021, Blue Telecom Consulting (in the following referred to as BlueTC) returned with its live webinar series for mobile operators, telecommunications networks equipment providers, industry analysts and regulators.

This time, our focus was on the new EU 5G Security Toolbox [i], which highlights the need and importance of network security and includes the guidelines which strengthen the role of the national authorities in ensuring operators take security more seriously and implement the toolbox.

During these unprecedented times, from the entire BlueTC Team, we would like to THANK YOU for staying in touch with us throughout 2020!

Early in the year, when news surfaced about a virus, - which quickly evolved into a full blown pandemic -, our way of working and interacting needed rethinking. As a forewarning of what was to come, the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress was the first large, international trade show in our industry to be cancelled. From then on virtual events and meetings became the norm globally.

BlueTC has just passed its first 10-year mark in business. It has been an intense decade in which the telecommunications sector has evolved in a vertiginous way and during which our company has remained faithful to its mission: Generate value for its customers within new technology areas and via the development of a specialised offering. In parallel, we have created an operational structure that enables us to deliver services globally.

SIP has enjoyed wide adoption as a signalling standard within telecom because of it's flexibility. The standard defines the length and composition of a message composed of letters and numbers. This inherent flexibility means the standard is open to interpretation when it comes to practical implementation.
